His industry experience includes B2B, consumer, high technology, retail, consumer, pharmaceutical, defense, and aerospace, among others. Mario has conducted hundreds of engagements in business and market strategy, product introduction, operations, and innovation with Fortune 500 companies including Pepsico, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, The Boeing Company, Abbott Laboratories, BMW, GE, and Ethicon Endo Surgery. He also has worked with a large amount of start-ups and non-profits as an advisor, coach and consultant.
Mario obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Pacific in Stockton, California. He obtained his Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Mario has attended post-graduate and executive studies at the Johnson Business School in Ithaca, New York, and at the Management Centre Europe in Brussels, Belgium. The Blue Ocean Institute in Fontainebleau, France, certified him as a Blue Ocean Strategy Consultant in 2008.
He has been a featured speaker at various Fortune 500 companies and at multiple associations including the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE), the Boston Consortium, and the Mass Bay Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Mario is the author of various white papers and co-authored "Building Marketing Excellence" with the CEO of StratX International Corporation, Jean-Claude Larréché, and a consulting colleague. The article appears in "The 2008 Pfeiffer Annual Leadership Development Book," published by Wiley. He has also introduced various companies to Blue Ocean Strategy and has hosted the program "The Innovation District" as well as the Spanish business program, "Negocios: Hoy en Día," on the URBusinessNetwork, an internet radio station.
His most recent engagements include an Indian software company to investigate launching of a service solution in the U.S., working with an EV robotic charger start-up, and working with one of the largest family-held businesses in the U.S. to explore new business options through innovation and culture change.
Mario is currently serving on the Board of Directors for CLASS Inc, a Massachusetts-based organization whose mission is to help individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to lead productive and fully realized lives. He is also a mentor for start-ups at EntrepreneurshipForAll, a Massachusetts-based accelerator.
