Mario has participated in and led multiple successful products and service solutions launches and worked in strategic planning and innovation initiatives both in the U.S. and internationally.
His vast industry experience includes B2B, consumer, high technology, retail, consumer, pharmaceutical, defense, and aerospace. Mario has conducted hundreds of engagements leading consulting and operational teams in business and market strategy, product introduction, operations, and innovation for Fortune 500 companies including PepsiCo, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, The Boeing Company, Abbott Laboratories, BMW, GE, and Ethicon Endo Surgery. He also has worked with start-ups and non-profits as an advisor, coach and consultant.
Mario obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Pacific in Stockton, California. He obtained his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Mario also has attended post-graduate and executive studies at the Johnson Business School at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and at the Management Centre Europe in Brussels, Belgium. The Blue Ocean Institute in Fontainebleau, France, certified him as a Blue Ocean Strategy Consultant in 2008.
He has been a featured speaker at various Fortune 500 companies and at multiple associations including the New England Business Association (SBANE), the Boston Consortium, and the Mass Bay Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Mario has authored various white papers and co-authored "Building Marketing Excellence" with the CEO of StratX International Corporation, Dr. Jean-Claude Larréché, and a StratX consulting colleague. The article appears in "The 2008 Pfeiffer Annual Leadership Development Book," published by Wiley. He has also led various companies in Blue Ocean Strategy and has hosted the program "The Innovation District" as well as the Spanish business program, "Negocios: Hoy en Día," on the URBusinessNetwork, an internet radio station.
His recent engagements include working with an Indian software company to launch a service solution in the U.S., working with a fitness device start-up, and working with one of the largest family-held businesses in the U.S. to explore innovative new business opportunities and change its culture through Blue Ocean Strategy.
Mario has served on the Board of Directors for CLASS Inc, a Massachusetts-based organization with a mission to help individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to lead productive and fully realized lives. He also mentors for start-ups at EntrepreneurshipForAll (EforAll), a Massachusetts-based accelerator.
He also currently teaches courses in Global Enterprise and Competition and Corporate Entrepreneurship at the Manning School of Business at University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML), where he has taught since the Fall of 2018.
